| Located in the center of
Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula on over 5,200 acres, Sawyer International Airport is well
suited in its role. It offers high profile industrial, high tech and
aviation businesses excellent development opportunities.
Utilizing world class air facilities, Sawyer aircraft operators have access to an all weather runway 12,300 feet long and 150 feet wide with all flight operations directed from a radar controlled environment. The region's wide open airspace offers ease of operations for an extremely safe and delay-free air traffic setting. The aircraft maintenance facilities on the Sawyer Airport include hangers capable of enclosing everything up to a Boeing 757. This was demonstrated when NASA conducted Friction Measurement testing with a 757 test bed aircraft at the Sawyer Airport. Utilization of facilities was also demonstrated with Burbank Aeronautical, out of California, when they conducted Stage Three Hush Kit testing and certification using their Boeing 707 test bed aircraft. The FBO operated by Boreal Aviation, has the capability to handle everything from the largest to the smallest aircraft currently operating in the world today. Boreal Aviation also operates a maintenance facility for medium to light aircraft including line maintenance for jet and turboprop aircraft. Complementing the aircraft maintenance is a repair station with avionics and instruments capabilities. With state-of-the-art facilities, an excellent highway access system and access to nearby rail services and water port, the Sawyer International Airport provides the capability to meet the demands of all business needs. Sawyer International's unique location can provide companies with opportunities for business growth on a regional, national or global scale.
